At the Gateway-Unaweep Fire Protection District (GUFD), our primary focus is the safety of the people in our communities. With a growing fleet of equipment, a dedicated team of volunteers and paid staff, and constant vigilance, we are prepared to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including fires and search and rescue missions.
Our mission at GUFD is clear: we are committed to protecting and enhancing the safety and well-being of everyone within our district. We approach our work with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and compassion. Our goal is to prevent emergencies from occurring and minimize their impact when they do happen. We provide top-notch fire protection, rescue, and emergency medical services to ensure the utmost safety for our residents and visitors.

As stewards of public trust, we hold ourselves to the highest standards. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a Special District, and we adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by the Colorado Special District Association statues, as specified in Colorado Revised Statute Title 32. This ensures transparency, accountability, and ensures that we are operating in the best interest of our community.
